Valter Borin earned his degree in piano and composition at the Conservatory " Verdi" in Milan, Italy, and began to study conducting and composition when he was very young. Dating back to 1992, his first concert conducted with a youth orchestra of Milan already included two pieces of his own composition. In those years, the general study of opera brought him the curiosity to try himself the study of singing in order to expand his own technical knowledge of such a fascinating kind of music, but soon he discovered he had a particularly gifted voice of tenor. So he began a second career as a real professional singer, which later became his main activity for the period 2000 – 2012. During this period he was requested at an international level and has sung all over the world (Deutsch Oper in Berlin, Staats Oper in Wien, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Théatre des Champs Elysees in Paris, Mikhaylovsky Theater in St. Peterburg , La Scala in Milan, Los Angeles Opera, to name some of the most important ones) playing leading roles in operas by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Bizet, etc.. thus collaborating with important conductors with whom he could confront, and in parallel by continuously studying the directorial aspect of the productions in which he was involved. Valuable in this regard was the advice given by many great conductors, but it is thanks to Mr. Marcello Rota - to whom he was often an assistant - who could finally complete his studies, expanding the technical knowledge of the symphony and the opera repertoires, especially the Italian opera. He has conducted many symphony concerts organized by the Arts Pool Foundation in Seoul and in Pusan (South Korea 2011/2012). Being also a Professor of Singing at the Conservatory of Vicenza, Italy (2013-2014) he has often been appreciated as a vocal coach in many overseas theaters in which he was engaged as a lead singer. His great experience as a singer, combined with his studies and his activity as a composer, give him an insight into the opera, both from the point of view of the general concept and from that the actual implementation technique. These peculiarities, together with a clear and effective conducting gesture, let his career go back to the original path in recent years: he is now the principal conductor of the Italian Organizations "Ritorno all'opera" and "ProMusica" , with which he is conducting Verdi's Nabucco in April 2014, La Traviata in august 2014 (new productions in the famous Ariston Theater, Sanremo), a new production of Puccini's Turandot (november 2014) and La Bohème (january 2015) in several traditional Italia theaters.
In 2013/2014 Borin was also the artistic director of the Symphony Orchestra of Asti, Italy, with which he conducted Verdi's Messa da Requiem with great success in October 2013 and the New Year's Concert in January 2014.In 2015 Valter Borin was General Music Director of Teatro di Milano, with wich he wil conduct "W Verdi" ballet show (all music from various Verdi's opera) at Dzintaru Konzertzale (Riga, Latvia, july 2015) with Latvian National Simphony Orchestra, and also he will conduct OFI (Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana) in Rigoletto and Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Saarema Opera Festival, July 2015. Recently, he conducted many concerts in Italy, in 2016 he triumphed by conducting Mozart Requiem in Milano (http://www.operaclick.com/recensioni/teatrale/milano-chiesa-di-smaria-del-suffragio-requiem-di-mozart-favore-dei-terremotati)and then he conducted many performances of "Il barbiere di Siviglia" and "La Traviata" in many North Italy theaters.Valter Borin il often invited to the National Theater in Banská Bistrica (Slovakia) to conduct Giacomo Puccini "Tosca" (http://www.stateopera.sk/sk/tosca/14062018stvrtok1830) His last debut was in 2018 conducting Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
In August 2022 he conducted a new production by "Die Fledermaus" by J. Strauss, for the Berlin Opera Festival, in Berlin.
On 24 September 2022, he conducted the concert-event for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the MONCLER fashion house, staged in Milan's Piazza del Duomo. He conducted the "Orchestra dei Cameristi della Scala", made up of more than 100 elements, and also a choir of more than 120 singers, plus a children's choir: Borin performed music by Dvorak, Bach, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Vivaldi and Orff, accompanying an immense ensemble of dancers that occupied the entire square with 1952 dancers engaged in a majestic choreography.
An extraordinary, unique and unrepeatable world event.
At the same time, M. Borin is always active as a composer: he has composed various pieces of sacred music, of piano, chamber and symphonic repertoire. He is currently in the process of implementing a project to record some of his works. One of them is now on sale by "Da Vinci Records" label: "PHOS", for Soprano and piano (see the HP).
