Valter Borin earned his degree in piano and composition at the Conservatory " Verdi" in Milan, Italy, and began to study conducting and composition when he was very young. Dating back to 1992, his first concert conducted with a youth orchestra of Milan already included two pieces of his own composition.
In those years, the general study of opera brought him the curiosity to try himself the study of singing in order to expand his own technical knowledge of such a fascinating kind of music, but soon he discovered he had a particularly gifted voice of tenor.
So he began a second career as a real professional singer, which later became his main activity for the period 2000 – 2012.
During this period he was requested at an international level and has sung all over the world (Deutsch Oper in Berlin, Staats Oper in Wien, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Théatre des Champs Elysees in Paris, Mikhaylovsky Theater in St. Peterburg , La Scala in Milan, Los Angeles Opera, to name some of the most important ones) playing leading roles in operas by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Bizet, etc.. thus collaborating with important conductors with whom he could confront, and in parallel by continuously studying the directorial aspect of the productions in which he was involved.
Valuable in this regard was the advice given by many great conductors, but it is thanks to Marcello Rota - to whom he was often an assistant - who could finally complete his studies, expanding the technical knowledge of the symphony and the opera repertoires, especially the Italian opera.
Being also a Professor of singing at the Conservatory of Vicenza, Italy (2013-2014) and in Conservatory of Aosta (2022-2023), he has often been appreciated as a vocal coach in many overseas theaters in which he was engaged as a lead singer. His great experience as a singer, combined with his studies and his activity as a composer, give him an insight into the opera, both from the point of view of the general concept and from that the actual implementation technique. These peculiarities, together with a clear and effective conducting gesture, let his career go back to the original path in recent years: he is now the principal conductor of the Italian Organization "ProMusica" , with which he was conducting Verdi's Nabucco in April 2014, La Traviata in august 2014 (new productions in the famous Ariston Theater, Sanremo), a new production of Puccini's Turandot (november 2014) and La Bohème (january 2015) in several traditional Italian theaters.
